A prime source of deterioration in foundations and superstructures is the use of low-pH soil and fine aggregate. Low pH speeds up the process of degradation of concrete which leads to development of pores and cracks in concrete. Due to damage of concrete cover the rate of corrosion of steel reinforcement increases exponentially. The most economical solution to this problem is the use of a cheap stabilizing agent to improve the engineering properties of soil. Our laboratory offers soil stabilization services according to ASTM standards, which entail determining the optimal percentage of stabilizing agent.
